Whether you’re 8 or 80 – come out and experience two of Kingston’s best assets – great wind and water. Collins Bay Yacht Club Sailing School offers an ideal location for beginner sailors and those wanting to refresh their skills on the sheltered waters of Collins Bay in the city’s west end.

Collins Bay Yacht Club has a long history of sail training, and the CBYC Sailing School is known for offering a welcoming learning environment and a solid program of instruction for both youth and adult students who want to learn how to sail.

The school operates from June until the end of August and offers two programs:

  • Youth Learn to Sail, for youth from 8 to 17, is run as a series of two-week summer day camps in July and August;
  • Adult Learn to Sail (currently being updated), for students 18 or older, is run in the evenings and on weekends from June to August.  NEW FOR 2018: we will be offering both Adult CANSail DInghy and Adult Start-Keelboat-Sailing. More information on Adult program to follow shortly.

While not a part of the Sailing School, CBYC also offers a live-aboard Learn to Cruise program for adults interested in learning to cruise in a cruising sailboat.
