The 2018 Slip Slide and Giggle: Feb 3

Yes It’s time again for the sixth annual curling classic, enjoyed by a great number of our members and friends. Put aside Saturday February 3rd for this fun event. So many of our members have been introduced to this mixed gender sport over the years and now it’s an opportunity for all of us to have another crack at the game and for ones who have never tried the “Roaring Game” a chance to give it a try with no pressure!

Festivities begin at 7:00PM (1900 hours in sailor speak) at The Royal Kingston Curling Club 130 Days Road (almost to Front). Please bring a pair of rubber-soled shoes to cavort in, preferably not ones worn to the club (that is clean soles) and a warmish sweater. Brooms and sliders are provided by the club. Pants are optional but the ice is kept at 20 degrees and the air temperature is 42 and these are real degrees not the ones forced on us in 1975!

The cost per curler is $15 and spectators are certainly welcome as their fee is $50!

If you have not curled with us before please let me know if you are a new curler or a grizzled veteran so I may balance the team as best as possible.

After the great event, we will stay at the club for a beverage or two and the inevitable boasting of curling prowess. Last year we filled 5 sheets of ice with 8 curlers each so this year we hope to cover all 6 sheets so be sure to let me know early if you are coming.
